Dealing with dark under eye circles can be very discouraging. But don’t give up because there are things that you can do to help diminish them.

Let’s first start by understanding why you have bags or dark circle under your eyes.

The thinnest skin on the body is located right around the eyes. When the blood passes through the veins it produced a bluish tint causing a bruising effect. The majority of the time like many other traits this one is also inherited and if you have a deep set bone structure, the dark the eye circles may appear because of the shadowing effect. Lack of sleep and fatigue can make your face pale only to accentuate dark pigmentation.

Common causes for circles under the eyes.

  1. Thinning of the skin
  2. Allergies and Hayfever
  3. Lack of rest or sleep
  4. Diet
  5. Hereditary
  6. Fluid retention


What can you do for the eye bags?

Well, you could start off by using a yellow tone concealer. This is a great way to cover them up. Concealer’s , like foundation, come in different shades, all you have to do is find the right shade for you. Apply by starting from the inner corner and tapping it across until it’s well blended and finish off with a light powder.

There are many home-made ingredients that can help make the dark circles less visible. For example it is said that putting teabags under the eyes, application of slice of raw potato under the eyes, drinking plenty of fluids and a lot of rest can suffice

For a corrective solution look for under-eye creams that contain elastin, collagen and vitamin E. Be careful not to over-hydrating, which can clog pores and add to the problem. You may find it helpful to visit a certified esthetician who can recommend the right product for your skin type.
And if your still not happy, go see a dermatologist. They usually prescribe lightning creams, chemical peels or laser resurfacing, depending on the severity.


Here are a few tips for dark circle under the eyes!

  1. Lots of rest. A good night sleep doesn't hurt anybody.
  2. Drink lots of water. Water is a huge factor in maintaining a healthy looking skin.
  3. Apply teabags under your eyes.
  4. Apply cucumbers over closed eyes for about 10 to 15 minutes.
  5. Vitamine K creams
  6. Vitamine C, this helps trengthen blood vessel walls.
